Born in Varna, Bulgaria where she originally studied sculpture and was inspired by a short film about the School of Jewellery in Birmingham having the dream one day to study there.
In 2001 Dilyana moved from the Black Sea to the Black Country where she trained at the University of Wolverhampton achieving a first class BA(Hons) degree in Design and Applied Arts in 2007. After graduating, she was selected to become one of the jewellers in residence at Bilston Craft Gallery for a period of two years.
Dilyana started her jewellery business in the beginning of 2010 when she joined the Design Space programme in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. She currently works from a studio space in Dudley, exhibiting and selling her work across the UK. The artist is a member of the Worcestershire Guild of Contemporary Craft and NAJ (The National Association of Jewellers).
